Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz got married over the weekend with an unoriginal Alice in Wonderland themed wedding. What is this? Your18th faux gothic birthday party... flippin' idiots.

The Ashlee Simpson-Pete Wentz wedding Saturday at her parents' home in a gated community in Encino, Calif., was described as ''a true love fest'' by a BZ spy who was there. She added the ''Alice in Wonderland'' theme was specifically chosen by the bride, ''because it's always been her most favorite story -- since she was a little girl -- and she also feels she relates to Alice in a number of ways.''

When asked about that, the source simply said, ''Ashlee feels that the key to life is keeping a sense of wonderment and not becoming jaded.... Plus, she feels all the success that has come her way is kind of magical -- like falling through that looking glass.''

Wow, can you get any more emo than that paragraph? Yes, yes it can ...it appears that lying sack of Emo is in fact preggo. Oh the shock!

Ashlee and Pete also have confirmed to people.com something rumored since their engagement was announced: They are expecting their first child. Along those lines, my source told me a good deal of chatter at the wedding reception Saturday was about baby names.

''Given the decorations and all the 'Alice in Wonderland' tea party stuff and Queen of Hearts decor [including flamingo croquet mallets reminiscent of the famed animated 'Alice' flick] -- a couple of people told Ashlee and Pete they should name their baby 'Alice' if it's a girl.''

That reportedly led Wentz to quip, ''Even though I never wanted to name a kid after me ... maybe we should go with Pete, if it's a boy. I know Peter Rabbit's from another story, but there is that White Rabbit in 'Alice in Wonderland'!''

That led a pal to joke, ''Given the kid's parents, I think 'Mad Hatter' is a better name!''

Oh man, I can hear the yuppies smug laughter while sipping champagne wearing a faux hawk and guyliner decked out in "Hot Topic" gear. LAME! I'm glad my weekend was full of potty training my two year old son and nursing my husbands Saturday night tequila hangover rather than attending that lame-fest.
