Ellen Degeneres pens up about Obama and Prop 8

Newlywed Ellen Degeneres blogged about her happiness for the amazing election deeming president elect Barack Obama and how Americans took a huge step forward in eguality. Although sadly Proposition 8 passed banning same-sex marriage once again.

"Watching the returns on election night was an amazing experience. Barack Obama is our new president. Change is here. I, like millions of Americans, felt like we had taken a giant step towards equality. We were watching history.
 
"This morning, when it was clear that Proposition 8 had passed in California, I can’t explain the feeling I had. I was saddened beyond belief. Here we just had a giant step towards equality and then on the very next day, we took a giant step away.
 
"I believe one day a 'ban on gay marriage' will sound totally ridiculous.  In the meantime, I will continue to speak out for equality for all of us."

It's terrible after 100's of same-sex marriages took the isle in California may be null and void after prop 8 passed. All those happy couples finally getting a chance to legally marry after years of hope to one day have equal rights as every of human being. It's sad, America did in fact take a huge step foward in history by electing the first African America president but just to take a giant step back on banning gay marriage.
