Pink Floyd's Richard Wright died

Pink Floyd's founder and keyboardist Richard Wright has died of cancer. The form of cancer was not disclosed by his friends or family. He was 65.

Wright's spokesman said in a statement: "The family of Richard Wright, founder member of Pink Floyd, announce with great sadness that Richard died today after a short struggle with cancer.

"The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this difficult time."

My fondest memories are composed through the tunes of  Pink Floyd's The Dark Side Of The Moon, which stayed in the US album chart for more than a decade. I've enjoyed pretty much all their albums but I guess the two I played none stop through my rough High School years is A Momentary Lapse of Reason and Wish You Were Here. I've seen the movie The Wall high, sober, and tripping so hard on liquid I danced with my Christmas tree during the Holidays drinking what I thought was ginger beer. It turned out to be some mysterious concoction a friend made while stoned. For the record, the tree was dancing too.

Richard Wright was a self taught pianist, with supreme talent and he will be missed.
